What People Are Saying

“After hearing Omkari speak to a general audience here at MASS MoCA, we wanted her back for a second session to speak with the MASS MoCA Activators in Summer 2024. The Activators are a bi-annual cohort of teens who work with MASS MoCA on special projects. We asked Omkari to speak again about her recent book, Micro Activism How You Can Make A Difference in The World (Without A Bullhorn), and work with the Activators on how they can understand activism in their own right, however small or big they choose to be. Micro Activism is a fantastic resource for all age folks, including those in their formative years who are figuring out how they want to contribute to the world. Having Omkari talk about her experiences candidly and asking participants to recount their own experiences regarding activism reminds us of the instances where and how we can rise up to meet ourselves where we are and how we can act in situations that require activism. Omkari is a wonderful spirit to have in a speaking role or around a table. She is consistently calming with her words and incredibly gracious and generous when offering her voice.”

“Omkari Williams has a remarkable ability to reach through the screen and deliver a mighty message in an extremely relatable and peaceful way. She delivered a poignant session to our team about finding self-care in our new post-pandemic normal. The team remarked that it was the breath of fresh air that didn’t even know they needed. Your team will definitely benefit from Omkari’s ability to speak to the introvert, the extrovert, and everyone in between.”

"Omkari's session on Sustainable Activism for HSP's and introverts was the exhale and lightness that I've been wanting for a whole year now. In one workshop, I realized at once how much easier this could all be, and also more clearly recognized where my real challenges are - not the ones created for me by external posturing. Omkari helped us to see the seeds of what compels us to be activists - our origin story. And for those of us who may already be on that path, she opened our eyes to the possibility that we already are activists. This is our work, living and breathing right now. I've never heard anyone teach about the importance of this kind of grassroots activism, in this manner, before Omkari. I would absolutely recommend this teaching for any quiet soul who has a spark of activism in their heart, as they wrestle with doubt and overwhelm. You are not alone, and as Omkari teaches, your efforts are certainly very wanted and needed right now."

"It was pretty amazing to be among many other introverts & HSP's who also feel committed to social justice. It was very affirming to realize that I get to be myself while also taking actions that are so meaningful. The pressure to adjust myself to an extroverted society was relieved without compromising my passion to contribute. Omkari is so kind and authentic. She provides such beneficial information, The experience was really down to Earth and connecting."

“Omkari Williams joined us on Zoom and offered a training to over 200 people at Wayside Youth & Family Support Network.

We were really blown away by her demeanor which is so inviting and the way she helped our mid- size non -profit really set a course for increasing our own social activism. Omkari herself is impeccably warm, centered, and clear about how our own stories can be used to launch us into a bigger story that impacts real change. Omkari was funny, real and a boon to us all as she stressed how to be gentle with ourselves as she nourished all questions, considerations and ideas that were brought to her! Omkari was a true professional capturing the spirit of activism and peace practice as she helped as all shore up our energy with our own story of how we came to the work of social justice and what makes us stay at it. She is a true thought leader in the work and a person who invites you onto the path by her manner and her ability to help draw forth the best in ourselves that can bring us all towards the best in each other. We recommend her in every possible way!”
