WORKSHOPS

Micro Activism: Making a Difference (Without a Bullhorn)

This signature workshop reshapes the participants’ perception of activism from something for a rarified few to a multi-faceted collection of ways to engage in pursuing equity across the spectrum of social justice.

Participants are guided to find their activist archetype, their most important cause, and their sustainable way of making a difference in the world.

With writing prompts, segments on why anti-racism is foundational, the power of story, how to find one’s place in activism, breakout sessions, group discussion time, a workbook, and more, this 2.5 hour workshop will lead people, including those who identify as introverts and highly sensitive, to recognize that activism has as many faces as there are people in the world. There is no right way to activism, there is simply each of our ways.

If your organization is invested in DEI work or a specific social justice cause it can be difficult to sustain the engagement of your employees or community. Often this is because the ideas around what activism is have little to do with what most of us see as part of our lives or sustainable for us. In order to keep activism alive it has to fit within the framework of the lives we are actually living, not ones we wish we were.

Learning how to make activism a sustainable part of life both in and out of the workplace is key to maintaining and even expanding engagement among your employees or the community you are working within.

Micro Activism: Making A Difference (Without a Bullhorn) provides the map that you have been looking for to not only get your stakeholders engaged but to keep them engaged over the longer time frame that meaningful change typically requires.

I cannot express how incredibly affirming, validating and galvanizing Omkari’s workshop was.The pacing was perfect, the content was well presented and it really energized me so much. I keep looking around me going “And THAT’S activism and THIS is activism and THOSE THINGS are activism!”

Self Care in the New Normal

In 2020 the world changed. The Covid 19 pandemic shifted how we work, play, and live. In some cases our responses to it brought us closer together, in others our responses divided families and nations.

Self care went from things like mani-pedis to far more profound ways of engaging in the world ways that build the resilience we need to function in this new normal.

In this 75-minute workshop we explore relationships, building connections, depletion and restoration, boundaries and more.

Participants will leave with a workbook and a plan for building meaningful practice of self care.

Omkari Williams has a remarkable ability to reach through the screen and deliver a mighty message in an extremely relatable and peaceful way. She delivered a poignant session to our team about finding self-care in our new post-pandemic normal. The team remarked that it was the breath of fresh air that they didn’t even know they needed. Your team will definitely benefit from Omkari’s ability to speak to the introvert, the extrovert, and everyone in between.
